Suffolk County Correction Officer I Exam

Is there a star in your future? The Suffolk County Correction Officer I exam will be given on April 27, 2019.  Registration is open until March 13, 2019. Under the supervision of a higher-ranking officer, a Correction Officer has immediate responsibility for directing and supervising inmates and maintaining order and security at Suffolk County correctional facilities. A Correction Officer is responsible for maintaining the custody, safety and well-being of prisoners by enforcing laws, rules and regulations to prevent disturbances, assaults and escapes. Correction Officers are designated by New York State law as peace officers and may be required to carry firearms in the performance of certain duties.  Register to the take the exam on the Civil Service website.
