Hofstra University Entrepreneurial Assistance Program

Join Hofstra University and explore the opportunity of starting and expanding your own business. Workshops will provide you with the "nuts and bolts" skills required to operate and grow a successful business. You will also receive training and counseling that will enable you to complete a business plan. A FREE Information Session will be held on Wed., March 1st at 6 PM.  The Entrepreneurial Assistance Program Workshops will run from March 13th- May 15th Monday & Wednesday from 6-9 PM. Long Island Career Fair March 13th

Are you looking for a job? Are you tired of sending resumes left and right and never getting an answer? If you are, dress in your best professional clothes, bring resumes and visit our Long Island Career Fair on Monday, March 13th from 11-2 pm at the Melville Marriott Long Island. You will have the opportunity to meet top employers and to interview for several positions during the course of the day, meeting the people who make the hiring decisions. You will save a lot of time since there will be no need to craft a customized personal statement for each company you visit. You’ll be able to tell them why you wish to work for them, and you’ll have the chance to sell yourself. Admission is FREE. Complimentary on-site parking.

This exciting course will prepare you for a financially secure retirement by showing you how to determine your retirement income needs and develop a personalized plan to achieve your retirement goals. You will discover key strategies for maximizing retirement income and obtaining the highest payout from Social Security. You will learn how to optimize your investment portfolio and create an asset allocation – pre-retirement and post-retirement. This course will show you how to "flip the switch" on your nest egg to generate an inflation adjusted income stream for life. Additional topics include how to reduce your taxes, protect your assets, provide for health care and preserve your estate. Each participant will receive a 140-page workbook with worksheets, illustrations, and key descriptions designed to reinforce concepts learned during the course. Whether you plan to retire in the next ten years or you are already retired, the information you learn in this course will deliver rewards throughout your life. Workbook fee of $20.00 payable to instructor.

JOB Readiness Training

Halo Network Inc. will be providing Job Readiness assistance to individuals for the Fresh Start Career Expo on Thursday, March 2nd & 9th from 10-2 PM at the Suffolk County One-Stop Employment Center. Computer Aided Drafting & Design March 2017

The Island Drafting & Technical Institute will offer a course, Computer Aided Drafting & Design & Electronics & Computer Services Technology starting on March 6th.  The course progresses from an introduction to computer basics (hardware & software) to advanced technical production drawings in 2D.  The objective of the program is to provide a comprehensive CADD (Computer Aided Drafting/Design) program with extensive hands-on application to satisfy industry needs for entry-level personnel with thorough CADD knowledge.
